Career Network Ministry Leadership Award

I was honored to receive the Career Network Ministry 2017 Leadership Award. Since 2009, I've had the privilege collaborating with a wonderful community of volunteers dedicated to assisting job seekers by providing free resources, practical guidance, and the emotional support necessary for a successful job search.

My Origin Story

After nearly 30 years of public service—including leadership in the U.S. Marine Corps and senior management roles across multiple federal agencies—I’ve entered my encore career: empowering mission-driven organizations to strengthen leadership, transform culture, and achieve measurable performance outcomes.

What Sets Me Apart

I lead with grit, grace, and the hard-earned wisdom of life’s toughest classrooms. That journey shaped me into a strategic advisor, servant-leader, and change agent—with a record of impact across government, nonprofit, and community platforms:

  • Organizational & Leadership Development – Designed and led leadership academies, workforce boot camps, and nonprofit programs that helped 4,000+ professionals pivot, grow, and rediscover purpose.

  • Strategic Execution & Culture Change – Translated complexity into clarity by aligning workforce strategies, performance metrics, and leadership behaviors with mission outcomes.

  • Marine Corps Mindset – Built resilient teams through discipline, mentorship, and mission-focused resolve.

  • Innovator & Builder – Created scalable systems and solutions that empower lives and strengthen organizations.

My Origin Story

The odds said I wouldn’t make it this far. Kicked out during my senior year in high school for fighting, and spent nights sleeping in car, earned my diploma through the mail, and took my first job on a factory floor. Then a kindhearted family took me in and gave me a home—and reminded me that God had a greater purpose for me.

In 1988, I put on the Marine Corps uniform. It reshaped my life—teaching me structure, grit, and the calling to serve something greater than myself. In August 1990, I deployed with the 7th Marine Expeditionary Brigade for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, leaving the Corps with an honorable discharge and a renewed hunger to serve.

There Was More Ahead

After the Marines, I earned my degree and built a federal career advising executive leaders, modernizing workforce policy, and founding a nonprofit that helped 4,000+ people navigate career transitions. Through it all, my mission has remained constant: helping others discover the “more” in their own lives.

Now, as I transition from federal service, I’m ready for what’s next.

If your organization is ready to strengthen its people, culture, and purpose—let’s build something meaningful together.
